A Grey Christmas Eve Both Sides Of The Water’s Surface

Although it’s December 24, I still went fishing, albeit for a very short lure session on a local lake.

I don’t know about a white Christmas, as you can see from the video below, it was certainly a grey one.

You often know within a short period of time whether it’s going to be a tough session or not, and after a number of casts, I knew that was going to be the case today.

You know that you won’t exactly be losing count of how many fish you’ve caught but if you can just get one it will be a result.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and although I did my best, ultimately the fish didn’t want to play ball.

I still enjoyed it though, after all it’s about being out there in the great outdoors and making the most of the natural world,

We’ve had some very mild weather in recent weeks and I noticed a coot’s nest that had been built.

The weather fools wildlife on a regular basis and I often come across unseasonal examples.

Back to the angling though, when I set off for home I had Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King’s track Shame playing in the car.

As I turned into my road, it was still going.

That’s the beauty of a local venue and especially helpful when you want to get a short Christmas Eve fishing session in.

Enjoy your Christmas Eve.
