Not that I prefer home comforts when it comes to the wonderful world of nature, nevertheless, when it comes to observing what’s going on on the garden, I’m not complaining.
The sunflower hearts are always popular with the tits and the first visitor to the feeding station is a blue tit.
Single wood pigeon and carrion crow in flight over the wooded valley.
Single magpie in flight over neighbouring gardens. Most blue tit seen, two birds. Always good to note maximum seen together, otherwise you get a false picture, as you could count the same bird multiple times.
Male great tit and coal tit on feeding station. Steady stream of tits. Robin also visiting. Three magpie together. Three great tit, male (2) female (1).
Gone quiet the last few minutes. Watching a great tit eating a large nut that’s it’s brought into the garden to consume. It’s pinned the nut to a branch with one of its feet and it’s pecking away.
Three lesser black-backed gull in flight.
Six wood pigeon in flight. Black headed gull in flight.
Female chaffinch in the garden, eyeing up the feeding station. I saw one previously in a neighbour’s tree, so great to see it much closer to home.
Ten species seen in total. It’s quite wet and windy out there so pleased with the bird activity.
