Lure Fishing On The Lower Severn Between Worcester And Tewkesbury – Killing Two Birds With One Stone

On the river for a midnight start to get the new season underway, I also took my mini-jigging tackle with me as well.

The following morning, after packing away from the opening session, I walked the bank to spend some time casting around for a predator.

A couple of fishing sessions but just the one journey – Killing two birds with one stone indeed. It’s about thinking and planning in order to maximise your time.

There’s more in the video below, including footage of the river itself. I was on a Kinver Freeliners Angling Club stretch.

It’s not day ticket, strictly members only, but you can enquire about membership via the contact details on the club’s website home page.

The tackle I fished with was as follows: Fox Rage Ultron drop shot rod, Fox Rage Ultron 2500 reel, 10lb Sunline braid on reel.

Fox Rage Illusion fluorocarbon 10lb 3oz (2 metres) joined to the braid with a small swivel.

Fox Rage micro jig head 1g size 4 hook. Berkley powerbait 2 inch rubber minnow. All knots (3) blood knots.
