The video below not only covers my latest angling session but also reveals the question that I’ve never been asked. It should be a common one but it isn’t.
I fished with the following tackle: John Wilson Masterline Debut 9’ quiver tip rod and a Shimano DL2500FA reel.
The reel was loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon and this went straight through to a Drennan Super Specialist size 6 hook, which was attached via a blood knot.
A size 6 Dinsmores shot and a 5mm ESP shock bead created the six inch hook-length, with a 1/4 ounce bomb above the bead.
I fished worm and loose fed red maggots. I was near a lock and cast three rod lengths out into the boat channel and open water, although the fish was caught a metre from the bank.
