Sedgley – The Goldfinch Capital Of The Black Country

It’s been just over a week since I was last at Sedgley Beacon and the noticeable difference is that more trees are now in leaf. It’s a lot greener all round than it was nine days ago when I was there last.

The list of birds is as below, with the highlights being bullfinch, linnet, peregrine falcon and raven. I’m also very pleasantly surprised at the number of goldfinches that I’m seeing in Sedgley, hence the blog title.

In order of appearance I saw: house sparrow, magpie, feral pigeon, great tit, wood pigeon, linnet, bullfinch, great tit, long-tailed tit, chiffchaff, carrion crow, goldfinch, common buzzard, peregrine falcon, robin, raven.
