Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and today’s walk took me along Setton Drive and Whites Drive in Sedgley. The former has houses along the one side and open fields (Turls Hill) on the other, with the latter being similar but back gardens and high fences.
Plus, apart from a short stretch, Whites Drive is not open to traffic so it has a much more rural feel to it. Like Setton Drive though, it also borders Turls Hill.
Birding, in terms of what you see, is about being realistic and with goldfinch, stock dove and treecreeper spotted, I was certainly pleased with that.
The full list of birds seen was as follows: carrion crow, wood pigeon, magpie, blackbird, goldfinch, blue tit, robin, wren, dunnock, collared dove, treecreeper, long-tailed tit, starling, stock dove, house sparrow.
