While I was at Tipton Family Church last weekend, as per a recent blog entry, I decided to have a go at the toilet roll challenge that seems to be quite popular at the moment.
I got there in the end and all I will say is that’s why I work in football media and not on the pitch.
However, although you will see lots of videos posted on social media from professional players to amateurs, even though the published clip will look great, there were probably numerous attempts prior to getting it right.
Isn’t this very much what social media can become, whereby we can portray an image that isn’t really us? We can post the perfect version, and that’s what people see, but behind the scenes the reality is very different.
I’m not suggesting we share everything that’s going on in our lives for all to see, just saying don’t envy others because what we see might not be the big picture, that’s all.
The toilet roll challenge is also like life itself, we don’t always get it right first time. We keep going though until we do.
