With wind speeds in excess of 50 m.p.h, plus a very high tide, then it has to be safety-first, as far an angling is concerned. It doesn’t mean that you don’t fish when the conditions are extreme, just that you don’t take risks.
I had a building behind me that deflected the wind and a safe vantage point with railings in front of me to cast from. As soon as the water started to come over the top though, I packed away.
