The New Saints FC 5 Caerau Ely 3. FAW Youth Cup Quarter-Final.

There is no reserves team at The New Saints FC, the next level down is the U-19s, and the latest game for Simon Smith’s side saw them in FA Wales Youth Cup action, as they took on Caerau Ely in the FAW Youth Cup.

The Cardiff-based club went 1-0 to the good, before TNS equalised, courtesy of a Lewis Rees strike. However, it was the visitors who not only restored their lead, but also improved it by holding a 3-1 advantage as we headed into the final nine minutes.

Goals from Lewis Bloor and Ryan Dacey pulled the home side back into it though, as the game headed into extra-time. Rees and Dacey again found the net with another goal each, beyond the ninety minutes, as The New Saints FC advanced into the semi-finals of the competition.

The videos below are some of the ones I did during the game and taken from the TNS FC Facebook page. The first two are prior to kick-off and the others feature Ryan Dacey’s goals.

This was my 66th game of the 2019/2020 season and you can view my football pages here.
