With the water temperature low at the turn of the year, I have decided to fish for chub into 2020. However, my choice wasn’t just about a reading on a thermometer, it was more to do with what I wanted.
That’s pretty much how my angling rolls, it’s all about whatever I fancy doing. That’s the beauty of being a solo angler as well, you don’t have to take into account the wishes and desires of a fishing partner, you can just please yourself.
I remember someone (I can’t remember who, it was a comment posted from a person I didn’t know) many years ago saying that was selfish, which I thought was an odd way of looking at things, because it’s nothing like that.
Being selfish is when you don’t consider the feelings of others. If you fish alone, like I do, you can’t be selfish because there isn’t anyone else in the equation.
Anyway, you can see how I got on in the session this time round via the video below. I also realised, after I released the chub in the photograph, that it had a leaf on its back. It’s not a problem though, and although I did check the fish for anything that had attached itself, it escaped me.
