Birding At Turls Hill, In The Black Country. My Local Patch, An Enclave Of Green Surrounded By Urban Development.

I do love the natural world very much and I have a genuine appreciation of everything that is out there. Although I’m a birder who is happy to pursue the hobby at a gentle pace and search out my own ticks, as opposed to a twitcher who will travel the length and breadth of the country in search of something that is making the headlines, nevertheless I do keep a list of birds seen.

My short visit to Turls Hill can be viewed via the video below. I saw (in order of appearance): starling, redwing, magpie, wood pigeon, blackbird, robin, herring gull, carrion crow, nuthatch, great tit, goldcrest, great spotted woodpecker (female) and wren. My 2019 list of birds can be viewed here.
