Although there are many grounds in Wales that are in a beautiful setting, as far as immediate location is concerned Cefn Druids’ The Rock takes some beating. A former quarry, the sheer rock wall is an impressive feature that runs the full length of one side of the pitch.
I’ve been there a number of times but still appreciate very much the aesthetics of the ground. This time round, the JD Cymru Premier MD19 game ended Cefn Druids 0 The New Saints FC 5.
The Boxing Day victory ensures that the reigning champions of Wales continue to lead the way at the top of the table, albeit with a narrow one-point lead. Goals from Danny Redmond, Adrian Cieslewicz and a hat-trick for Greg Draper saw The New Saints register a comfortable victory.
The video below is a behind-the-scenes insight from my visit to The Rock, which is in the village of Rhosymedre. It was my 54th game of the season and you can visit my football pages here.
