It’s OK To Be Overjoyed But Be Careful What You Worship. Reflections From The Christmas Story.

This is a condensed version of my sermon at church on Sunday just gone. When the wise men saw the star, it tells us in the Bible that they were ‘overjoyed’. Upon arriving at the place where Jesus was though, they ‘worshipped’.

Be careful that we know which things we can be overjoyed about but not worship. The short video below explains in more detail. Fishing gets a mention, so you can probably see where I’m going with that.

And as it’s December 25th, merry Christmas to you!

Matthew 2: 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
