It’s MD18 in the JD Cymru Premier this coming Friday (December 20) and Cardiff Metropolitan University FC are the visitors to Park Hall, the home of The New Saints. The former, who have enjoyed relative success since promotion to the top flight of Welsh football, are currently in the bottom half of the table.
On the other hand, Scott Ruscoe’s TNS FC is leading the way at the top of the pile. With second and third placed Bala Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads also going head-to-head on Friday, it presents The New Saints with an opportunity to push on in pursuit of a ninth consecutive title.
Cardiff Met are going through a poor run of form at present, having collected just three points from the last five games. On the other hand, TNS has banked thirteen from a possible fifteen.
Looking on, the home side will be strong favourites to win the game and beat the Students for the first time in the league since the autumn of 2017. On that occasion it was a 2-1 victory on October 28 at Park Hall.
Prior to the game itself on Friday, we did the press conference with The New Saints FC’s manager, Scott Ruscoe, this week. You can watch that below, as I asked Scott a number of questions regarding the game in general.
