Due to various other commitments, it’s been a few weeks since I last took in a game in the Beacon Football League. Although I had a free week this time round, due to the heavy rain that had fallen in the previous day or so, I didn’t think I was going to make one this week either.
However, with a game scheduled for the 3G pitch at RSA Academy in Tipton, I knew this was going to be played. We’re well used to artificial surfaces in Wales, and since their introduction and growing influence, there is far more stability in terms of fixture completion.
The match between Sedgley & Gornal and Claregate Park Rangers, saw the home side take a 2-0 lead. However, I impressed with the visitors and thought to myself, I still think they’ll get something from the game.
That was the case, as they drew level in the second-half. Both teams created opportunities as the clocked ticked down, and on reflection, I would say that a draw was a fair result.
I certainly enjoyed the match, but as I have written on numerous occasions I get something from every game that I attend, whether working or pleasure. This was the latter and was my 15th new ground of the season. Visit my groundhopping pages.
