Another day and another early morning visit to a local canal after perch. It’s all about making the most of every opportunity, and on this occasion I was up at 6.30 a.m. for an hour or so at first light on a Black Country canal, targeting my favourite species.
I fished with a quiver tip rod and 4lb Maxima Chameleon straight through to the hook, which was a Drennan Super Specialist size 10. I used a small lead, with the hook length created by a small shot and bead.
I didn’t catch anything of any size on this session, but as I say in the video, I enjoyed it. Regardless of what puts in an appearance on the bank, we should never lose sight of the fact that angling is there to be enjoyed.
The water temperature was 11.8 C.
I also mention my website in the video, as it has recently undergone a face-lift, with a static home page now the landing point and the blog posts just one click away.
I’m certainly happy with my site and I do enjoy blogging. I also get decent views as well, so that certainly makes it worthwhile. It’s always been a pleasure to work on and never a burden. That’s the key really, like fishing itself, it’s first and foremost about enjoyment.
