As The New Saints Lose 1-0 To Barry Town United, An Interview With Manager, Scott Ruscoe, On The Park Hall Pitch Following The Final Whistle.

Following defeat in the Nathaniel MG Cup (Welsh League Cup) at Bangor City four days previously, it was another reversal for the reigning JD Cymru Premier champions, this time at home to Barry Town United in the league.

After Scott had been interviewed by S4C, our national broadcaster in Wales, we went on the pitch to do ours for TNS TV, the club’s YouTube channel.

Scott is always pleasant and even though interviews when you lose are never as good as when you’ve won, nevertheless they have to be done and you get on with it. Although I prefer them following a victory, I still enjoy doing them.

That’s the thing when you work in media, although you want a win on the pitch, your job isn’t determined by performance or result but rather the quality of the content that you produce.

I won’t get the sack if the football team I work for loses a few games but I will if my interview techniques slip or my radio commentary is rubbish or my website articles are full of grammatical errors.
