Groundhog Day, As The New Saints FC Exit Another Cup Competition On Penalties. This Time It’s Against Bangor City, In The Nathaniel MG Cup.

Although currently sitting in second place in the JD Cymru Premier, with early exits from two cup competitions it’s not been an ideal start for The New Saints’ 2019/2020 season. The latest disappointment for the club was defeat at Bangor City in the Nathaniel MG Cup (Welsh League Cup).

With the game level after ninety minutes, there was no extra-time and it went straight to penalties. It was a case of groundhog day indeed, as like the recent trip to Stenhousemuir, TNS FC once again tasted defeat from the spot.

This was my 34th game of the season and there’s more about my groundhopping adventures here. I do enjoy getting out and about, and whether working or pleasure, football is very much like fishing – you can never have too much.

The video below is a behind the scenes insight into the game at the EuroGold Stadium as well as the final penalty and the Bangor celebrations. As I was commentating on the game at the time, that’s on there as well, in case you’re wondering what the talking is all about.
