GroundHopping In The Beacon Football League, With AFC Essington 6 Penn Rovers 7 To Begin The Season. Want Some Free Publicity For Your Club?

After a summer that included football in Bulgaria, Denmark and Kosovo, as well as behind closed doors friendlies at Rangers and Shrewsbury Town, exit from European competition means that it’s back to ‘normal’ now for the rest of the season.

It’s still exciting though and as a football fan I’m as happy watching games at national stadiums as I am at parks pitches. Of course, working in the beautiful game means that I get to visit some great places.

Away from work commitments though, I will always take in a new ground when possible, and that doesn’t matter whether it’s the national stadium in Copenhagen or Coseley’s leisure centre.

It was to the latter that I headed for opening day of the Beacon Football League. With local games on Sunday afternoons, it suits me really well and this season I’m looking to work my way through the venues that I haven’t been to yet.

The first game was an end-to-end thirteen goal thriller, as Penn Rovers eventually secured the points against Essington AFC. You can see some of the highlights below.

This was my 25th game of the season so far and my 9th new ground. I’ve got lots more Beacon Football League venues pencilled in and if you’re one of the sides involved in the set-up, contact me and I’ll be more than happy to give your club some publicity.

I’ll produce a video anyway, as below, but if you want one of your players or club officials interviewed, let me know. That offer extends to any club in any league, as I do like to get around on my groundhopping adventures.

I enjoy watching games in the Beacon Football League and last season was honoured to get an invite from David Clinton to attend a cup final. I’m looking forward to seeing more this time round on a weekly basis.
