They Think It’s All Over. It Really Is Now, Well At Least As Far As The League Is Concerned Anyway. The New Saints FC 1 Connah’s Quay Nomads 0. (1204)

The JD Welsh Premier League season has now come to an end and the final game for The New Saints FC was a home tie with Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Although the placings had already been confirmed, with TNS making it eight successive titles on the bounce and the Nomads finishing runners-up, nevertheless there was plenty at stake.

Professional pride, plus the fact that the game was a dress rehearsal for next weekend’s JD Welsh Cup final, ensured that neither side would take their foot off the pedal.

In the end it was the slenderest of margins, as Greg Draper’s penalty was all that separated the teams come the final whistle.

I interviewed Greg and TNS FC manager, Scott Ruscoe, post-game. Those videos are below, following a short one taken around the match itself.
