With a long working day in Wales ahead of me, I got up at first light to have an hour on the canal after chub. If you’ve been following my recent blog entries then you’ll know that I have been mostly catching bream on these sessions.
This time round though, as you can see from the image above, I did connect with my target species. Funnily enough though, as you can watch via the video below, I didn’t think it was a chevin at first.
Following some chilly nights, including frost, the water temperature on the canal was still low and the fish wasn’t active. Just the one fish on the bank, again it’s the fine line that I often mention, but once more it’s good to be on the right side.
