Pied Wagtail Roost In Wolverhampton With Birds Of Prey Lurking (1069)

I first came across the winter pied wagtail roost in Wolverhampton city centre some years ago when I went to a Wolves game.

This time I went there to film the birds coming in for the night and had a pleasant surprise to find a sparrowhawk and a kestrel waiting for them as they began to arrive.

I only managed to get brief footage of the birds of prey, most of it wasn’t good enough to be used. The kestrel moved on but the sparrowhawk stayed around longer with one kill to its name.

The Christmas lights made filming difficult, I may return when they are down and it will be easier to capture just the birds.
