Working In Welsh Football Ticks The Boxes (985)

The disappointment of last Sunday’s defeat in the JD Welsh Premier League is well behind us now, as a 5-0 victory at Prestatyn Town in the Nathaniel MG Trophy (Welsh League Cup) has been followed by a 3-0 win at Richmond Park, the home of Carmarthen Town.

Although I work for The New Saints, it is far more than just a job. Football is a way of life for many people, and having been a follower of the beautiful game all my life, the last five seasons has been particularly passion-filled.

Combined with a very strong personal connection with my own Welsh roots (we passed through Radnorshire, where I have Welsh blood from) working in the Welsh Premier League ticks the boxes.

During the game I did commentary on TNS Radio, which we broadcast on the club’s Facebook page this week, while Sam looked after the match report and social media updates.

Following the match, as always, I interviewed manager, Scott Ruscoe. The player I went for this time was defender, Joash Nembhard. He played the last two games, kept clean sheets and scored against Prestatyn Town. You can watch those below.
