Although I work full-time in football it’s also a hobby as well. Most people are glad to see the back of work once the weekend is here but I’m always looking to take in extra games on my groundhopping adventures.
In the wider area where I live we have the Beacon Football League where games at 2.15 p.m. on Sundays are perfect for me. This weekend I set off for the village of Coven, just outside the Black Country conurbation, to watch Coven United and Dudley Rangers United.
It was a good game and although the hosts were 2-0 up at the break, I thought to myself this will end 2-2. Dudley had some very gifted players and all they needed was one goal and they’d get another.
Well, they not only pulled one back but went on to take the three points, with the winner coming late in the game. What a screamer it was as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game, which was my second in the league to date and my 25th new ground so far this season.
