Following the disappointment of Saturday’s Irn-Bru Cup defeat it was back to business for The New Saints. A convincing 6-0 win against Aberystwyth Town was the perfect way to bounce back.
With Connah’s Quay Nomads losing at home to Caernarfon Town on the same night, it means that we now have a three-point lead at the top of the table following MD5.
Having won the JD Welsh Premier League seven seasons on the bounce, in my time at the club not only has ultimate domestic success been tasted, but we’ve then gone on to play in Europe.
The prize of Welsh domestic victory is one that is sought after by everyone at the club. Whether the chairman or a fan, we all have some great memories that have accumulated over the years of being involved at the top table of European football.
It’s early days of course but we are one-sixth of the way through the season and it’s good to be at the top. No-one at the club ever takes anything for granted, that’s a fact. The players and staff are always professional and driven.
The game was my 39th of the season so far. Check out my groundhopping pages HERE
Following the game, I interviewed Scott Ruscoe and Aeron Edwards for TNS TV. Beneath those you can watch the Blaine Hudson and Simon Spender chat. It’s funny!
