My Fifth Visit To The Oval And It’s A Very Happy One (938)

Although not a new ground as I’ve been there on four previous occasions, nevertheless I was looking forward very much to the visit to Caernarfon Town’s The Oval. It’s great to see them back in the top flight of Welsh football and the prospect of a Friday night under the lights in front of a good crowd was an exciting prospect.

What a game it was as well, with the home side denied by some great work from Captain Fantastic, Paul Harrison, in the TNS goal. Just before the break though, up popped Dean Ebbe to give The New Saints a 1-0 lead at half-time.

Goals in the second period from Jamie Mullan and Greg Draper wrapped up the win for the reigning champions as we go back to the top of the table. The team bus was a happy one on the way back home and it was great to get everything from the match report and interviews all sorted and on-line from the comfort of the coach.

Following the match, I did three interviews on the pitch with the aforementioned Harrison and Ebbe, along with manager Scott Ruscoe. The lead image is of The New Saints on the pitch before the match itself.

It was the final game of August 2018 for me and that means I’ve watched 33 games so far. Obviously, working in football is a big factor in that, however I’ve still been to quite a few as a fan / groundhopper. It’s all football, it’s all good. Visit my groundhopping pages HERE.
