As The New Saints’ UEFA Champions League preparations continue, we welcomed Scottish Championship side Falkirk to Park Hall. We won 2-0 with a solid performance and following the game, I interviewed two of our new signings, Kurtis Byrne and Danny Redmond, as well as manager, Scott Ruscoe.
I’ve embedded those, courtesy of TNS TV, further on in the blog entry. Talking of manager, I got the away dressing room sign autographed by Paul Hartley. A Scotland international, with 25 caps, he will need no introduction to football fans, following a successful career with the likes of Aberdeen, Celtic and Hearts. Another quality addition to my personal memorabilia collection.
The Falkirk fans were great and it’s another Scottish club that we’ve connected with. Our adventures in the Irn-Bru Cup, combined with numerous friendlies, have resulted in some great friendships along the way. It’s behind-closed-doors, so I can’t give out details in advance, but we’ve got a game against Rangers coming up. Now that is one that I’m really looking forward to.
