STRUGGLING ON THE CUT (perch) – Blog entry 649

It’s been a while since I was on the local canal, so that’s exactly where I headed this week with a couple of short sessions to enjoy. As you can see, from the equally short video, it was a struggle all round. I did catch, and indeed three species, but it was hard going. Even the solitary perch gave the gentlest of bites.

This is the time of the year when we look back and it has been a very enjoyable 2015 for me personally. Due to my involvement in the Welsh Premier League, the number of sessions I did was down. Having said that, I will still manage just over 200 so it’s not exactly doom and gloom is it! Many of them though were short perch spinning ones, in other words, making the most of limited time.

As well as looking back, we also gaze into the future and make our plans for the year ahead. I am intending to seriously up the number of outings that I do, and have a strategy in place to do that. In addition, from January I’m going to remodel the video side of my blog, making that the main thrust of the weekly offerings. I’ve been working on it for a while and I’m sure that the people who enjoy the present ones will definitely take to the updated version.

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a fantastic Christmas and thank you for your support in reading / watching my blog. I get 20K views per month on the video side of things alone, plus the written entry on top of that. It really does make it worthwhile when I put them together, knowing that they will be appreciated by so many. Again, thank you very much! (Published December 19 2015)
